About me 

Hey there! My name is Jennifer Northorp, I am a multimedia artist and creator behind The Messy Paintress. 

I specialize in murals and signs- though I also enjoy printmaking, hand-building ceramics, and other painted works.

 Inspiration & Philosophy​

My art is inspired by the joy of making. The tactile feel of materials, learning new skills, and the appreciating everyday world around me. Art for me is about connection, curiosity, and the wonderful messiness of life itself.

Creating is not just my passion- it is my reflection, observation, therapy, and play.

Sharing my love for creating is my greatest contribution, as I love to collaborate with other artists of all ages, as well as with clients to bring their vision to life. I believe that art is for everyone-whether it be through creation or consumption.  I received my Bachelor of Social Work in 2020, and my Bachelor of Art in K-12 Art Education in 2025 from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. I now teach art to high school students in Springdale, AR and intend on sharing my lesson plans and projects soon!
