About me 

Hey there! My name is Jennifer Northorp, I am a multimedia artist and creator behind The Messy Paintress.

Painting and sculpting with ceramics are my favorite ways to express myself, however I love immersing myself in any materials I can get my hands on. ​

Creating is not just my passion- it is my reflection, observation, therapy, and play.

Sharing my love for art-making is my greatest contribution, as I love to facilitate, and collaborate with other artists of all ages. I believe that art is for everyone, and the act of creating itself holds more importance than the finished "product".

 I received my Bachelor of Social Work in 2020, and my Bachelor of Art in K-12 Art Education in 2025 from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. With a focus in ceramics in school, I aim to continue improving my firing skills at my home studio. I also eagerly look forward to every opportunity to teach and be involved in our local arts community this year! ​
